Quintet Tabor was
formed in 2006 by five
young musicians with a mission to spin the traditional
woodwind quintet in new, rousing directions. They aim to explore and interpret
great works from both the standard quintet repertoire and contemporary literature
through engaging programming and innovative collaborations. Ever curious and
experimental, they also seek to expand the scope of the woodwind quintet; to
meet these goals, Quintet Tabor actively commissions new works from young
composers and will highlight new talent during their upcoming concert series.
This New York-based ensemble performs throughout the metropolitan area and
presents outreach programs aimed at exposing students to the world of chamber
music through lectures, concerts and masterclasses.
